In 2014, I took a summer class at the University of Minnesota on Renewable Energy for continuing education as a high school physics and biology teacher. I was fascinated by the potential of solar energy to create electricity for a consumer and offset fossil fuel consumption. We installed solar on our home shortly thereafter, I started including solar / renewable energy in my curriculum, and I encouraged my school district to add solar arrays to all of the buildings. I was hooked!
My wife and I started our teaching careers in Hawaii and visit there as often as we can. My wife teaches at the elementary school I attended and our daughters both teach at the high school my wife attended!
