TruNorth Solar Sponsors 2017 Southwest MPLS High School Robotics Team

rob2The spotlight will shine on the 2017 Southwest High School Robotics – FRC Team 2129 – Ultraviolet in the Minneapolis FIRST Robotics Regionals Competition taking place April 7th – April 8th, 2017 at Williams Arena and Mariucci Arena in the heart of the University of MN campus. The Competition has free admission and is open to the public, and puts on an impressive show with jumbo-trons, music, concessions, cheering and non-stop robot action.

The FIRST Robotics Competition is a National event, and gives high school students grades 9-12 and their adult mentors the opportunity to work and create together to solve a common problem. Teams have just 6 weeks to plan, design, build, and program their robots to participate.

Southwest High School FRC Team 2129 – Ultraviolet is a co-ed team founded by students in 2006, making them one of the oldest FRC teams in the State of Minnesota. Earlier this year, Team 2129 – Ultraviolet was second runner up in the FIRST Robotics National Safety Animation Video with a shipyard, TF2 steam punk theme, matching the theme of this year’s Robotics course layout and design.
