TruNorth Celebrates Steve’s Retirement and Welcomes New Team Members

The Team at TruNorth Solar recently celebrated the retirement of a truly remarkable individual, Steve Borden (pictured center right at a small lunch gathering to celebrate). For many of us, Steve has been more than just a colleague; he’s been a mentor, a steady presence, and a friend, and we’re certainly going to feel his absence.

Before joining the TruNorth Solar family, Steve carved his own path as a successful business owner for many years. But Steve’s impact at TNS extended far beyond his business acumen. He brought a unique perspective, a deep understanding of the challenges, and a practical wisdom that enriched countless discussions here at TNS. He had a genuine interest in everyone he worked with, always taking the time to listen. Steve shares his kindness with all and has acted as a mentor for many.

Our CEO, Marty Morud, perfectly captured Steve when we said, “Steve’s ability to truly hear and understand our customers, combined with his unwavering integrity, has been invaluable to our company’s success; we are deeply grateful for his years of service. His empathetic approach and commitment to character have not only driven sales but also built lasting trust.”

TruNorth Solar will undoubtedly feel a little different without Steve’s thoughtful presence, and while we are sad to see him go, we are also incredibly excited for him to embark on this new chapter!

Steve, as you transition into retirement, please know that you leave behind a legacy of leadership, kindness, and genuine connection here at TruNorth Solar. From all of us at TruNorth Solar, we wish you the happiest retirement journey. May it be filled with joy and new adventures!

However, as we bid farewell to a valued member of our team, we’re also thrilled to share that we’ve recently welcomed some other talented individuals to the TruNorth Solar team who are already making a significant impact. Here, we’d like to introduce two new key team members, Carl Ludewig and Jason Walstad.

Carl Ludewig is our new ADIP Project Manager (ADIP = Assessment, Design, Interconnection, Permitting). Carl first worked for TruNorth as an Intern a couple years ago. He then took on the role of the Emerging and Renewable Technologies Program Administrator at Minnesota Department of Commerce, working to support the expansion of battery technology across Minnesota, before heading back to TruNorth.

Jason Walstad is our new Outside Sales Managner, and while he’s new to the Solar Industry, he comes to us with several years of sales and sales management experience. Jason’s proven track record brings a valuable understanding of customer needs and building strong relationships, which directly translates to ensuring our customers feel informed and confident throughout their solar journey with TruNorth Solar.

Many of you have likely already had the pleasure of speaking with either Carl or Jason, as both have joined our team with a focus on enhancing our customer communication. They are both dedicated to ensuring a seamless and transparent customer experience from the beginning of your project, right through the crucial stages of project mobilization. Their commitment to proactive communication reflects our ongoing dedication to providing exceptional service and building strong, lasting relationships with our clients.

Alongside Carl and Jason, we’re excited to have added a few other new team members across our Sales, Service, and Construction departments, all working together to ensure a seamless and positive experience for our valued customers at every stage of the project.
